UPDATE ON ASUU STRIKE

Ahead of today’s meeting with the Federal Government, President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Nasir Fagge, has declared that the union will not back down on the ongoing strike if a compromise is not reached.
Speaking to PM News, Dr. Fagge maintained that the strike action was not embarked upon just for the demands, but for the Federal Government to honour a Memorandum of Understanding which it signed in 2012 with ASUU.
“Who’s talking about demands here? We presented our demands in 2006 and it took us three years to get it into an agreement.
“The Federal Government signed an MOU in 2012, that’s what we are asking them to honour, period. The strike action will not continue only if they implement the MOU we had last year,” Fagge said.
He further disclosed that “If we call off the strike when the MOU has not been implemented, of what use was the strike action in the first place? We are holding on until everything is sorted out.”
The industrial action by the lecturers will be forty-nine days old if ASUU does not reach an agreement with the Federal Government at the meeting scheduled to hold later today. [PMNEWS]

Pictures Of World Most Expensive Toilet

This is the World Most Expensive Toilet Made Of GOLD worth $10 Million also heard its 24karat Gold. it is One of the most talked about items on display and it was manufactured in Japan, I heard Japan makes the most sophisticated toilets in the world intelligent loos that self flush, self clean, play music or the sounds of tweeting birds. They even have seats that will warm your a*s for you, lol. At that time the solid gold 24-karat loo was worth some sixty million Japanese yen (approximately 4,500,000 RMB in 2002). But with gold having appreciated considerably in recent years I dare not think how much the loo must be worth today. Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed to sit on this loo, well thats sad.

A Series of Shots

A SERIES OF SHOTS is similar to a Montage, but it usually takes place in one location and concerns the same action. Think of the movie Earthquake ... SERIES OF SHOTS A) Store windows start to rattle and shake. B) Hanging signs swing back and forth. C) Bricks and shards of glass begin to fall onto the sidewalks. D) People run for cover. A SERIES OF SHOTS is formatted as a SHOT. Just like a Montage, the shot series are action paragraphs and may also be numbered 1) 2) 3). A MATTER OF STYLE Some writers will incorporate a series of shots into a script without noting it as such. This generally contributes to a smoother flow of the action. The action lines might be short, descriptive sentences on separate lines. The Piazza de Palma is packed with Saturday shoppers. A LOUD SHOT rings out. Pigeons take flight, WINGS FLUTTERING EN MASSE. Heads turn in the direction of ANOTHER GUNSHOT. A frightened child drops his ice cream cone and CRIES. A woman SCREAMS. Anothe...

President Goodluck Jonathan sacked nine ministers yesterday – in a shocking move that sparked questions on the motive of the action. Five factors accounted for the ministers’ sack, The Nation learnt. According to highly-placed sources in government, some of the reasons are: non-performance; security reports on alleged corruption; political allegiance and doubtful loyalty to the President; poor management of turn-key projects; and the crisis in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). A source, who pleaded not to be named because of the “sensitivity” of the matter, said: “You will recall that the President asked the ministers to sign a performance bond. About four of the nine ministers failed to live up to expectations in the assessment of the Presidency. “In fact, three of the ministers were yet to understand their mandate after being in office for two and a half years. One of the ministers had more than 20 agencies under him but his performance was poor. “We cannot also rul...
